So you have decided to invest in the Android platform? The bad news is that Android market is still in its infancy. The good news is that there are plenty of apps that help you get in touch with your friends and followers in social media sites right on your phone. Whether you want to blog, tweet, or use Facebook on your android phone, there is an app for that. Here are 5 android social media apps to get you started:

Facebook: the official Facebook app for Android. It’s very easy to use and makes it easy to communicate with your friends on the site. It still needs a lot of work but gets the job done.

FBabble: a bit more flexible than the official Facebook app for Android. Based on what we have seen on iPhone, I do expect the above app to get a huge improvement in the near future but if you can’t wait, try FBabble.

wpToGo: blogging on your Android phone, using WordPress platform. Very simple app with a very simple user interface. It does the job but could definitely be better.

twidroid: a full-featured twitter android client with features like native photo posting, location support, auto-completion, and more. Simple way to stay in touch with your followers on the road.

Loopt: if you have tried Loopt on iPhone, you probably can guess how this app will work. It’s a cool way to see where your friends and how you can connect with them. Great way to put the word social back in your life.

What’s your favorite Android social networking app?
