Android Market To Hit 100K Apps?

Apple iPhone may have a ton of apps available for it, but Android market is catching up fast. The market has been expanding quickly and is expected to reach 100,000 apps sometime in July. According to Android Guys, the Android market will gain about 10K in the month of July, bringing its total over 100K apps. That’s a major milestone for Android and should give developers who have stayed in the sidelines second thoughts.

Android Market Gains, Are you Watching Apple?

Apple has become quite a bully with all the success that it’s had with iPod, iPhone, and now iPad. The company has taken advantage of thousands of apps that’ve been developed by developers from around the world to build a distinctive edge over most of its rivals. Well. Android is not going to go away and fold like other Apple competitor’s have been forced to do or are thinking of doing. Android is gaining on Apple on multiple fronts. Not only the OS is now rising fast and closing its market-share gap with iPhone OS (and RIM), its market has grown dramatically in the past few months, and it is expected to reach new heights in the next couple of years. The market currently has around 42000 apps and is adding thousands of app each month. According to Information Week, Android Market added over 9000 new apps in the month of February. Now that’s impressive for such a young platform.
