Google To Use iAds to Its Own Advantage

Apple may be on the top of the world with all the praise it gets from the analyst and Wall Street experts. But Google is lurking not so far behind and is planning to deliver a quick set of blows to Apple and what the company has been building towards. Google may have lost the opportunity to bring the apps it wanted to Apple iPhone, but it is having a lot of success with Android platform. While Google Nexus One was not the iPhone killer many thought it could be, Google has plenty of good things going for it, especially now that it is planning to release its own iPad killer.

Google has more than just Android to poke the bear that Apple has become. The company has been planning a coup with its own mobile advertising platform. AdMob gives Google the perfect opportunity to do so. But before that happens, the deal needs to get finalized. Here is where things get interesting. Apple could have finally given Google all it needed to go ahead with the deal and finalize it. After all, it’s not a Google monopoly if Apple is making billions from its own mobile ad platform.

Apple and Google CEOs Meet

Credit: Gizmodo

Google may have had its issues with the Chinese government in the past few weeks, but it seems it is making some progress dealing with Apple. That’s if you can read such thing from the coffee session that was shared by Steve Jobs and Eric Schmidt. Gizmodo first reported on the story that indicates these companies are willing to talk. While we shouldn’t take too much into this coffee meeting, Google and Apple will have a lot to talk about in regards to their future projects. For starters, Google is still on a mission to dominate the world, but it can’t risk having Microsoft seal a deal for Bing on Apple products.

Google Getting In TV Business?

We knew a few weeks ago that Google was in discussion with a few cable companies to bring Google Android to setup boxes. But it seems Google is more serious about this TV business than many experts had thought. Google has partnered up with Intel and Sony to work on the next great Google product, Google TV. Google not only wants to dominate the web online, it also wants to bring it right to your home, to your HDTV. This seems like a great deal for all sides. Sony has been stagnant in almost any market you look at. The giant used to be a market leader in the past, but it has become a follower in recent years. Bringing Google and Intel on board and adding their service to Sony HDTVs could only help Sony regain some of its lost swagger. Google and Intel have probably more to gain from this move. They are finally getting a chance to target a market that they have not tackled so far.

Vizio has been trying to be a market leader in bringing apps to its HDTVs. The next generation Vizio HDTVs do allow their owners to take advantage of Amazon Video on Demand, Flickr, Netflix, Rhapsody, Twitter, and VUDU on their TVs. Google and Intel are trying to go beyond that approach and put HDTVs on steroid. These three companies have also signed up Logitech to develop killer remotes for their product. They seem to be hiring Android developers as well. So the final product does seem to be taking advantage of Android platform to deliver content to HDTVs.

Android Won’t Suffer From China Spat?

Product Details

There have been a lot of discussions in the tech industry about what the latest spat between Google and China means for Android and Android handset makers. Google is clearly not happy about all the hack attacks on its services and is planning to defy the Chinese government and stop censorship in China. Of course, we know the Chinese government won’t budge, so Google may have to exit the market altogether. While we don’t expect that to happen, Google has had to delay its Android phones in the Chinese market due to this development.

Google and The Trouble In China

For a company that has grand plans and want to conquer the world, Google is finding the China market particularly difficult to deal with. Google has become somewhat of a hero by announcing that it will stop censoring its results in defiance to the Chinese government. Of course, the Chinese government is not known for actually handling defiance kindly, so Google may have to leave China if it’s serious about this issue. Google is clearly not happy about all the hack attacks on its services in China, and that is why the U.S. government has held meetings with the Chinese officials.
